Eastern continues to prepare more undergraduates who go on to earn doctoral degrees than any of the 21 other master’s colleges or universities in Illinois, based on the findings of a National Science Foundation survey.
Nationally, Eastern ranked in the top 5 percent — 35th —among 560 master’s colleges and universities. The survey of thousands of doctorate graduates was conducted from 2000 to 2009 and recorded 227 Eastern graduates gaining doctoral degrees.
